We’re not here to build a ministry empire — we’re here to equip ordinary people through a prophetic community that helps them carry extraordinary spiritual gifts with confidence.
— Ken Menefee, Founder
The Western Michigan Prophetic Community began with a simple conviction: the gifts of the Spirit are not reserved for a select few — they are accessible to every believer who is willing to listen and step out in faith.
Founded in 2019 in Zeeland, Michigan, WMPC grew from a personal journey of seeking God’s voice — and discovering that so many other believers in West Michigan were quietly hungry for the same thing. There were no safe, grounded places to practice. No community where you could ask honest questions without judgment. No training ground that took the prophetic seriously without veering into error or extremism.
Six core convictions that shape everything we do — from how we lead gatherings to how we treat every person who walks through our doors.
Everything we teach and practice is anchored in the Bible. We test all things by the Word — no exceptions. The prophetic must never contradict Scripture.
We are committed to proper covering, transparency, and accountability. People need a safe place to grow — free from manipulation, pressure, or spiritual abuse.
The gifts of the Spirit should never be locked behind a paywall. All our training and teaching is free — because what God gives freely, we give freely.
We actively welcome people from all denominations and church backgrounds. Theological diversity is a strength — and we learn best in community together.
You can’t learn to hear God by reading about it — you have to practice. Our gatherings are deliberately structured as activation environments, not just lectures.
1 Corinthians 13 drives everything. We pursue the prophetic gifts not for status or spectacle — but because we love God and we love people deeply.
Founder & Lead Teacher
Ken is the founder and lead teacher of the Western Michigan Prophetic Community — a husband, father, and everyday believer with a deep passion for equipping the body of Christ to hear God’s voice with confidence.
Ken’s journey into the prophetic was not a dramatic overnight experience — it was a slow, faithful walk of learning to recognize how God speaks through Scripture, impressions, dreams, and the still small voice. For years, he walked this road largely alone, hungry for a community where he could grow in a safe, grounded environment.
Western Michigan Prophetic Community was founded in 2019 in Zeeland, MI, and is currently located in Caledonia, MI. When that kind of community didn’t exist in West Michigan, Ken stepped out in faith to build it.
His teaching style is practical, accessible, and deeply rooted in the Bible. He is committed to transparency, proper spiritual covering, and building a culture where no one feels pressured or used. Ken also leads outreach efforts to Honduras and has a vision to see the prophetic community extend well beyond West Michigan.
